My father was a confectioner many years ago, his Buttercream coconut Easter Eggs covered in dark chocolate decorated with Royal icing leaves, flowers and swans. This memory that is indelible. He also made milk chocolate shells. That he filled with candies. I guess I was a dark chocolate fan even young, I wish I had tried to make these when my children were young. Finally I have a grandchild and I think I need to make the effort and your approach fits.
I just love a great salad like this one! The dressing is wonderful and it went so well with each component. I did add the full number of anchovies to the dressing, but then taste tested, and I add a couple more – I love what anchovies do to recipes, especially dressings and sauces, it’s the “secret” ingredient. Nobody in the fam even knew that there were anchovies, so there! This salad is so 70’s, and I can picture Mary Tyler Moore and Rhoda Morgenstern serving it at one of their parties.
