Has anyone else made this recipe and found it to have sweet undertones?

I made a Butterscotch Loaf. I swapped the white sugar for light brown sugar and added a pinch of salt and 1 1/2 cups of butterscotch chips. I used Pam for baking and there were no issues removing the loaf from the pan. No change in baking time. I then topped the loaf with a basic powdered sugar glaze after cooking for 15 minutes.
