This is my first time ever making scalloped potatoes without using Velveeta cheese and, boy, am I so very glad that I did! I did blanch the potatoes for about 3 minutes as at least one other person in the reviews had done and added about 1/2 cup more cheese to the sauce because I like it really cheesy, but this was awesome! I also forgot to cover with foil, so they were browned on top before adding the cheese, and then browned ever more. I am not much of a cook, my husband usually does that, and he actually ate several helpings and said they were fantastic! So, it was a win, thank you!
