Because I was using fresh sweet bread, I let it dry out some and I substituted heavy cream for the milk. I use heavy cream and egg yolks when I make French toast because it creates a custard and keeps the bread from getting too soggy. I also added chopped pecans instead of raisins, because I prefer nuts to raisins. I’m still waiting on the finished bread, pudding, but it looks and smells amazing so far!
A delicious soup that the whole family really liked! One think I'd do differently is to add the broccoli and carrots to the chicken broth and cook some before adding the cream and milk. Hubby suggested a little more cheese could be added . Outside of that, the recipe was perfect!
