This really isn't a question, more of a statement. I think through the years people have forgotten that little zing you got when you bit into the cookie. I went through a lot of recipe until I found what was missing. Try adding just a pinch of fine ground black pepper. I'm not being factious, it is really good. Don't add to much (don't want it hot). Now whenever I make ginger cookies I add just a small pinch, it really is crazy gooe.
Decided to try this recipe on the day after Christmas ham…WOW! Love it! Only thing I did differently was to sauté the carrots, onions and celery in butter with the thyme before adding to the peas. Ingredients and times are all spot on! Thanks Uncle!
