This is our favorite Swedish meatball recipe. For more than 10 years I have made it for Yule, and if I can't do it for Yule I make it for Christmas Eve, and if I can't do that we make it for New Year. It's a holiday tradition! I make the meat version (with turkey or chicken instead of veal) and also use the sauce to cook vegetarian meatballs in (subbing chix broth with veggie stock) when necessary. One year I said I wouldn't have time to make them and my daughter cried. (I found time!) Make sure to stock up on Lingonberry preserves when you see them - if they're out of stock you can use cranberry sauce but it's not the same.
