These are the best bran muffins in the world! My old work place cafeteria used to sell a bran muffin only available to the food industry. These are WAY BETTER!! It may seem daunting with the quantity of batter you are making. Don't let that scare you. The steps are the same for a small batch of something. I measure out everything before hand. Water in the tea kettle, dry ingredients, sugars in their own bowls, bran in a heat proof bowl, shortening in the mixing bowl, and so forth. Once you get that accomplished, it goes very quickly. If you want to try them, cut the recipe exactly in half. I have done that, and it works very well. We find if we eat a couple of these every day, we don't snack so much or crave sweets. One important note: Use the proper cereal. I have used Bran Buds and it was weird. I don't think other brands of cereal will work as well either. Bert, a big thank you!
