Idk what I did wrong but my rice browned, I followed all the steps too. First off, what does steaming the water mean, like to a boil? I put the oil and onion, then rice, my temp was below a medium heat and it started to brown so I threw in the rice. Idk what you by milky. My rice is white, some turned clear and others stayed white. I did 1 cup of rice to almost 2 cups of water and my rice is watery after 15mins of cooking. I lowered the heat to your little bit of steam instruction. Idk, the instructions make no sense to me as well.
